Image on left by Rachel Pringle and on right my response to the work It has been a very long time since I popped my head back here. Having 2 kids definitely changed my time and energy in making art but I am hoping there is light at the end of the tunnel coming soon with that! Luckily for me my friend Demelza Sherwood helped me dip my toes back in with this great project she has curated called The Homemade Exchange. The premise of the project was to initially take an image from your domestic setting and send it to Demelza who then swapped all the images around and you were given one of the other artists works to respond to and make something inspired by it. This was very challenging but a great way to get working again and thinking of new ways of mark making for me. The photographic image I received was by artist Rachel Pringle. I'm really looking forward to seeing the other works especially what happened to my image. You can see the results here from the 1st August. The online exhibition will be part of the Craft Cubed festival as well. Below are a few details of the work I made which you can click on to see a larger image. The piece was made using silk, watercolour paints and polyester thread. Above is the photographic image I sent to Demelza.
