Carly Altree-Williams is an illustrator and textile artist based in Melbourne who works with watercolours, embroidery, and digital printing.
Growing up in the Snowy Mountains in New South Wales surrounded by the bush inspired her love for researching local eco systems and native plants, looking at how the patterns, colours and shapes compliment each other. She wishes for her work to bring an awareness to the beauty found in our local environments and the importance of caring for and protecting these environments.
Having a sustainable practice is very important to her work and all Carly’s products are developed and produced locally from her original watercolour illustrations and then made using natural materials and waterbased pigment inks in limited editions.
Carly studied a Bachelor of the Arts (Visual) majoring in Textiles at the ANU School of Art.
